Bass fishing has top billing this time of year. Bass fishing on Gull Lake has been great, so have all area lakes. We are using jig worms exclusively catching  mainly large mouth bass with the occasion northern on some lakes.

Today my clients were from North Carolina, we fished Lake Hubert. We caught and  released 30 bass topped by the wives 3lb. small mouth bass. We also got to take in the great Lake Hubert 4th of July boat parade.

Also on Gull the sunfishing is excellent on the deep edge of the weeds in 12-14 feet, you cannot fish Gull without catching bass which are great for the kids. No doubt Gull is a would class bass fishery.

How many ways can you describe the wind this fishing season? A walleye chop is one thing, but lately the wind has been ridiculous!

Walleyes continue to be the fish of choice this week. Gull lake seems better on cloudy days, with fish hitting rigs and minnows or jigs and fatheads in 12 to 18 feet.

Mille Lacs is one of the better choices for very nice fish and a few in the slot. Crawlers or leeches on Lindy rigs have worked well for us there.

My bass fishing is heating up and for now they are in the shallows and on the flats. I sampled both Gull Lake and Pelican this week and we caught some very nice large mouth bass.
