| The leaves are starting to
turn color, the windy weather has been good for the walleye
bite. Most days on Gull Lake have been very good for walleye
and walleye fishermen. The bass continue to hit as well
So many people look forward to the
fall fishing and it is
here and in full swing on Gull Lake.

| Bass and sunfish are the
eager bites on Gull and most other area lakes. The
fish of the week was caught by Joe Stippich in Wilson Bay on
a red shad plastic worm. Joe caught a walleye 31" long with
a 15 1/2' girth. Joe, who is from Kansas had a memorable
trip as this great walleye went from the surface to the
bottom in 20 ft of water, three times. Congratulations Joe,
what a catch.
Walleyes remain hot on Mille Lacs. Muskie are
following lures on Lake Alexander.

| As the water temps are
getting higher, bass and sunfish continue to be the most
consistent fish to bite. In the last week and a
half we've caught 49, 52, 87, and 106 large mouth bass, all
were released. Fast action with lots of fish photos and
plenty of good times.

| Great time of the
year, all the big 3 are hitting northern, bass and
walleyes. Water temp is generally in the high 60's
Bass are taking the honors, Saturday with my son and
grandchildren we caught 55 bass in 2 1/2 hours. It was
cloudy with a light wind on a fabulous Brainerd area lake.
Sunfish are also starting to hit in the shallows, look
for excellent fishing on Gull Lake this month.

| The recent hot weather and
many calm days have produced a lot of great crappie fishing
on Gull Lake. With bass opener coming this weekend,
look a lot of good shallow water action on both the north
and south ends of Gull Lake.
Walleyes have been scattered from 7 feet to 34 feet on
Gull. Some very nice sized walleyes have been taken on Lindy
Rigs with leeches or rainbows in deep water.
